Review Process
Peer Review Policy
The Journal of Education and Educational Development (JoEED) follows a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scholarly contribution of all published research. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to maintain fairness and objectivity.
Internal Review (Editorial Screening)
Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial evaluation by the editorial team or a member of the Editorial Board. This stage ensures that the manuscript:
· Falls within the aims and scope of the journal
· Follows the journal’s submission and formatting guidelines
· Demonstrates academic relevance and originality
· Complies with publication ethics and academic integrity standards
· Shows an appropriate research design and methodology
Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements or fall outside the journal’s scope may be returned to the authors without proceeding to external review.
External Peer Review
After passing the initial editorial screening, manuscripts are sent for double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure impartiality and fairness.
Authors are requested not to include identifying information within the manuscript file. Reviewers are also expected to decline the review if they recognize the identity of the author(s) to avoid conflicts of interest.
Typically, manuscripts are reviewed by two independent experts in the relevant field of education or educational development.
During this stage, reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:
· Originality and contribution to knowledge
· Clarity and quality of presentation
· Research methodology and design
· Data analysis and interpretation
· Validity of results and conclusions
· Relevance to the education research community
If reviewers determine that the manuscript contains major methodological or conceptual issues that cannot be resolved through revision, they may recommend rejection.
Revision Process
Authors receiving revision requests are required to submit a revised manuscript along with a detailed response to reviewers’ comments, explaining how each suggestion has been addressed. The revised manuscript is assessed by the editorial team and may be returned for further revision if necessary.
Criteria for Selection of Reviewers
Reviewers are selected based on the following criteria:
1. Possession of a PhD degree or equivalent academic qualification in a relevant discipline
2. Demonstrated expertise through publications in reputable academic journals
3. No recent collaboration or co-authorship with the author(s)
4. No institutional affiliation with the author(s)
5. Adequate knowledge of research methodology and data analysis
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
JoEED expects reviewers to provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations while maintaining confidentiality and declaring any conflicts of interest.
